Indie developer Siscia Games has announced that Pompeii: The Legacy, a narrative-driven city-building RPG set in ancient Rome, will enter Early Access on PC via Steam on September 23, 2025. Previously set to release on September 16, the Early Access release was pushed one week.
Developed by a solo creator from Croatia, the game places players in the aftermath of the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. Tasked with rebuilding Pompeii, players must guide generations of a Roman family as they restore the city’s identity, balancing politics, trade, and societal pressures. Every decision carries consequences across decades, shaping both the city’s fate and the legacy of its inhabitants.
Beyond traditional city management mechanics, Pompeii: The Legacy emphasizes personal and cultural identity. Roman architecture, governance systems, and family progression play a central role, combining historical authenticity with narrative depth.
The Early Access release will include three distinct game modes: a full story campaign, a sandbox mode for free-form play, and a relaxed creative mode for building without restrictions.
