Independent developer Nathan Gane has announced Frostliner, a narrative-driven survival city-builder set aboard a colossal train navigating a frozen post-apocalyptic Earth. The game is currently in development for PC, Linux, and Steam Deck, with a release planned for 2026 via Steam.

Unveiled just days ago, Frostliner has already captured the attention of survival and strategy fans, surpassing 10,000 wishlists on Steam.
Set after a catastrophic event that shattered the moon and plunged Earth into a permanent deep freeze, Frostliner puts players in command of a massive locomotive built to sustain life on the move. As they traverse the icy wastelands, players must scavenge for fuel, gather survivors, and expand their mobile city to endure the hostile environment. The narrative unfolds through a handcrafted world, while each stop brings difficult choices and looming danger—whether from the cold or from raiders along the way.
“I’m blown away by the attention and support Frostliner has received,” said lead developer Nathan Gane. “I never imagined reaching 10,000 wishlists so quickly. Seeing how much people believe in the game has inspired me to explore working with other developers to make Frostliner the best it can be.”
Frostliner is expected to launch in 2026. Players can wishlist the game on Steam now to follow development and be notified at release.
