Retroware has announced that Toxic Crusaders, the radical side-scrolling beat ’em up inspired by the cult classic cartoon and Troma universe, will launch on December 4 for PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One & Series X|S, Switch, and PC via Steam. The game will be priced at $24.99/€24.99.

Originally premiering as a cartoon in 1991, Toxic Crusaders returns with a modern twist, combining nostalgic pixel-art visuals and Saturday morning cartoon vibes with chaotic, co-op brawler gameplay for up to four local players.
Players can fight as seven playable characters, including series icons Toxie, No-Zone, Junkyard, Headbanger, and for the first time, Yvonne and Mrs. Junko—Toxie’s ever-supportive mom. Battle through seven grossly gorgeous levels packed with Radiation Rangers, mutant punks, and even zombie chickens, all in defense of Tromaville.
From planet Smogula to the streets of Tromaville, expect pun-heavy dialogue, comic-style cutscenes voiced by TeamFourStar, and surprise cameos from across the Troma Cinematic Universe, including nods to Class of Nuke ’Em High, Poultrygeist, and Sgt. Kabukiman N.Y.P.D.
